If you do a quick search on the Internet, you will find that there are a number of misleading information online regarding the value of Ty Beanie Babies.

It can get very confusing understanding exactly what beanies are of value, especially with all the variables involved: name, year released, material used, tags, generations etc. It would be easy to manage if only we were talking about a handful of styles, but that is just not the case.

We are certain you have search around a saw some styles such as the Princess Diana Bear Beanie Baby on sale for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars $$$$ and have been trying to find a BUYER for yours ever since. You’ve even been skeptical and cautious about it. The truth is, those sellers have been trying to find a BUYER too.

In the next sections, we will decipher how to value your Beanie Babies

Let’s begin by first setting the foundation of how this works. Beanies Babies are divided into two (2) classifications. They are: Unique & Rare and Common.

A Unique and Rare Beanie Baby, as the term suggests is a hard to find beanie as only a few thousand of its style were ever manufactured. Hence, COLLECTIBLE.

On the other hand, a Common Beanie Baby (also known as Mass-Produced), is one which millions of each style were produced and are easy to find, making them readily available for purchase. Hence, NON-COLLECTIBLE.

Ty Beanie Baby Classifications are tag generation driven. In other words, regardless of the name of beanie and the year of release – the tags (swing and tush) dictates the generation, which determines the classification (it’s true value).

Below we have put together a chart to assist you with identifying Unique & Rare and Common Beanies:

A rare purple bear TY Beanie Baby

This chart is specifically for Ty Beanie Babies and not other models such as: Attic Treasures, Buddies, Boppers, Classics, Pillow Pals, etc.

The chart above should be used as a guild to determine whether you have a truly unique and rare or a common edition. Years and names are not reliable as Ty, Inc. the manufacturer of Ty Beanie Babies have released multiple styles within the same year, of the same name/style. It is only through the tag generation that we can tell at a glance whether you have a collectible beanie in hand.

But don’t just take our word for it, the wonderful folks over at TyCollector.com have been maintaining a thesaurus on Ty Beanie products since 2009 and has an extensive inventory of products including their swing and tush tag generation.

Okay, so now that you are equipped with identifying your beanie classifications, let’s answer that ever burning question, what is the value of my Ty Beanie Baby?

The short answer is, no beanie is worth thousands of dollars today – not even the truly unique and rare editions. That said, PlushCollector.com pays up to a max of $50.00 USD per mint unique and rare beanie with all original tags. We also offer a flat rate per beanie and other models which you can find in our shop.

At PlushCollector.com our goal is to assist you in seamlessly monetizing your collection. Our process is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply register and tell us what you would like to sell. We purchase them all, we simply need to now what you have so we can compensate you accordingly.

What is a halo bear aug 31, 1998 value? Some are $3.00 and some $3,500.00. What is the difference? Thank you

    • Tom says:

Beanie values are determined by their condition and tag generations. In short, if there is a star or other imprints on the swing tag, chances are, it is a 4th gen or later edition which are considered common/mass-produced.

Ty Beanie Baby – Halo is not a rare beanie and certainly does not carry a value of thousands of dollars. Anyone can list any price he/she wishes online for a beanie. However, all beanies do not share the same level of scarcity/rarity.

The chart on this page gives you an at-a-glance list of swing tags and what to look for per generation.

i have two error bears im trying to find a value on but it seem that they range from a few hundred dollars to a few grand. The bears in question are a Valentino and a Valentina they are in good condition the tags are still attached and protected. What is the worth on these bears?

    • Tom says:

      Hi Tyler,

These are both common beanie styles.

As stated in the article, beanie values are determined by their tag generations. If you take a look at your Valentino and Valentina beanies, you will find a star on the swing tag and their names on the tush tags. Both of these are signs of a 4th generation or later beanie edition.

I have a Princess Diana beanie baby, looks brand new- tag has always had a clear protector on it, and always kept in a box free of dust and anything else. What would the value of that be?

    • kenio says:

      Hello Kim,

Unless you a Ty Beanie Baby – Princess bear which is signed by Princess Diana herself, it is a common Ty Beanie Baby.

Please see our shop for what we pay for common beanies.

  6. aixa.mdones says:

    Hello,

I have a few beanie babies that have errors on their tag, such as Curly the brown bear with all his errors (i.e Original is spelled wrong, error in second line of poem and birthday, tush tag error, and etc) as well as Claude the Crab beanie babies with the errors on the swing tags. All are in great condition. I have been trying to find the values for these beanie babies and keep getting that they could be hundreds to thousands of dollars–can you tell me, if possible, the value of them?

    • kenio says:

      Hello Aix,

As the article states, the value of Ty Beanie Babies are not determined by Name, DOB, errors, etc.

Beanie values are tag generation driven. The tag dictates whether your item was part of a limit run (which make its scares i.e. rare) or mass-produced (millions of that particular style was made i.e. common).

A rule of thumb, rare beanies only has ‘TY’ on the red heart shaped swing tag. If your beanie has a star or some other imprint, it is a common edition.

Please reference the chart in this article for more details. And see our shop for what we pay for mint common and rare Ty Beanie Babies

  7. Alyssa says:

Hello I have a princess Diana bear among other rare older Bennie baby’s. All great condition and tags some tags are still in the case. I’m looking to seek to a collector any idea where to start ?

  8. Stacy says:

I have the green bunny “Hippity” with a 5th generation hang tag, but he has two tush tags. One is black and white and right on top of it is a colored one. Is there any value to this beanie?

    • kenio says:

      Hi Stacy,

      Unfortunately, no.

The additional tush tag is there for regional compliance purposes. If you review the information on the tag you will notice that is has patent and legal verbiage on there.

  9. Dana says:

Hello, I have a few beanie babies that I would like to know the value of. Can you help me if I send you pictures?

  10. Branden Lear says:

Hello I have about 7 first generation beanie babies, batty, blizzard, the crab, schweetheart, and a few more. Would they e worth anything?

    • kenio says:

      Jordan,

Stamps on the inside of the tags were only to designate what country the beanie was manufactured in. This does not make them more valuable.

  11. Chris says:

I have a 1999 platinum club case, never opened, mint condition. Clubby 2 bear. There seem to be massive differences in price. Etsy has some for 35k while eBay is 5 bucks? How can I determine the value. Thanks

  12. Tricia says:

    Hello,

I have a mint condition Valentino Beanie Baby Bear (93/94). It has a star on the tag, and has 15 errors throughout. I noticed the Valentino bears online for sale, with all different prices. In my research, I did find that the more errors it has, the more it is worth. Is that correct? What do you think the approximate value is on my Valentino? Thank you for your time.

    • kenio says:

      Tricia,

Errors do not make any Ty Beanie Baby more valuable. Please read the article in question to get the facts about Beanie Baby tag generation and their values.

  13. judy lemberg says:
